Since 2019, there have been rumours swirling around about the cast for the film. This new movie will be the third Fantastic Four instalment on the big screen. The previous Fantastic Four films, released in 2015 and 2005, didn't do so well with critics.

Pedro Pascal stands out as the lead actor in The Fantastic Four. He's become widely recognised in recent years for his starring roles in popular shows like The Mandalorian and The Last of Us. Pascal has also appeared in Game of Thrones, starred in Narcos, and featured in films such as Kingsman: The Golden Circle and The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent. Notably, he's dipped into the superhero genre before, portraying the antagonist Maxwell Lord in Wonder Woman: 1984 for DC Comics.

After John Krasinski portrayed Reed Richards in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, fans have been curious if he will return as the character in the upcoming Fantastic Four movie. However we can now confirm that it was a one-time surprise and he will not be reprising the role.

Kirby, known for her role as Princess Margaret in The Crown and an Oscar-nominated performance in Pieces of a Woman, expressed her interest in portraying the Invisible Woman. At the premiere of Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One in 2023, Kirby shared her admiration for the character, saying, "It would be an honour to play Sue Storm. She’s amazing."

Kirby shared the exciting announcement on her Instagram on 14 February. She wrote, "Happy Valentine’s Day everybody. From our family to yours. Very honoured to take on Sue Storm, Marvel’s OG lady since 1961. I hope to do her justice."

Joseph Quinn

Joseph Quinn is set to make his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in The Fantastic Four film. His role was previously portrayed by actors Chris Evans and Michael B. Jordan in the 2005 and 2015 versions, respectively.

Quinn rose to fame for his role as Eddie Munson in Season 4 of Stranger Things on Netflix. He's also lined up to play Roman Emperor Caracalla in Ridley Scott’s Gladiator sequel. Additionally, Quinn is part of the cast for A Quiet Place: Day One, alongside fellow Marvel star Lupita Nyong'o.

Ebon Moss-Bachrach

Ebon Moss-Bachrach has found success recently for his role in Hulu's The Bear and previously in HBO's Girls. He's also familiar with superhero roles, having appeared in Marvel TV's The Punisher as David Lieberman, also known as Microchip in the comics. Just like this co-star Pascal did, Moss-Bachrach has also had a role in a Star Wars series, appearing in the first season of Andor.

The main villain of The Fantastic Four, Dr. Victor Von Doom (Dr. Doom), has not been chosen for the upcoming reboot yet. It's unclear if Dr. Doom will be in the 2025 version.
